Nutraceutical Manufacturing Certifications & Compliance in India.
Understand the manufacturing credentials, quality-management frameworks and project-specific documentation relevant to nutraceutical contract manufacturing, private label supplements and international supplier qualification.
Explore credentialsCredentials should be relevant, current and verifiable.
For B2B supplier assessment, ask which legal entity, manufacturing site, activity and product category each licence, registration or certificate covers.
FSSAI Licensing
Food-business licensing should be checked against the relevant licence holder, approved activity, manufacturing location and product category.
GMP Framework
Good Manufacturing Practice principles address manufacturing controls and consistency. The applicable standard and facility scope should be verified.
WHO-GMP
Where a WHO-GMP-related certificate is cited, the issuing authority, site, product scope and validity should be examined; it is not universal product approval.
ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 concerns quality-management systems. Certification status and the activities covered must be confirmed from a valid certificate.
US FDA Registration
Any applicable US FDA facility registration must be checked for the specific entity and facility. Registration does not mean FDA product approval or endorsement.
Made in India
Country-of-origin and manufacturing-location statements must reflect the actual product, production route and applicable labelling requirements.
ISO 22000:2018
Food Safety Management Systems certificate issued by Quality Control Certification (QCC), dated 06 September 2024, with stated expiry 05 September 2027. Certificate no. FSMS/D968/0924. Current status and scope require issuer verification.
HACCP
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point certificate issued by Quality Control Certification (QCC), dated 06 September 2024, with stated expiry 05 September 2027. Certificate no. HACCP/EA96/0924. Current status and scope require issuer verification.
Verification note: This page explains credentials referenced in NutraMarck’s supplier-assessment framework; it does not replace the underlying licences or certificates. Current status, validity, holder, site and applicability must be confirmed before relying on a claim. Certification, registration or licensing does not automatically authorize a product for sale in another country.
Four steps to assess compliance for your project.
For contract manufacturing and private label supplement sourcing, review the documents that match the product and proposed manufacturing route—not just the logos on a brochure.
Share product category, dosage form, destination country, intended claims and sales channel.
Confirm the relevant legal entity, production site and activities covered by the proposed supply route.
Request applicable licence or certificate details, validity, scope and agreed product documentation.
Check import, registration, label, ingredient and claim requirements with qualified destination-market advisers.
What international buyers should verify.
A manufacturer’s credentials and a finished product’s regulatory status are different questions. Both matter before commercial launch.
Manufacturing site
Which location will manufacture or pack the product, and which authorizations cover that activity?
Quality documentation
Which specifications, batch records and test reports can be provided under the agreed project scope?
Market suitability
Are the ingredients, claims, labels and importer obligations suitable for the destination country?
Questions buyers ask before choosing a supplement manufacturer.
Clear answers help importers, private label brands and procurement teams evaluate documentation requirements.
What certifications should I check when selecting a nutraceutical manufacturer in India?
Review the licences and certifications relevant to the product category and actual manufacturing facility. Check the legal entity, issuing body, approved scope, validity and any applicable quality-system documentation. Requirements differ by product and market.
Does FSSAI licensing mean a supplement can be sold internationally?
No. FSSAI licensing relates to applicable Indian food-business activities. Import, product classification, ingredient restrictions, registration and labelling requirements in the destination market must be assessed separately.
Does US FDA registration mean supplements are FDA approved?
No. Facility registration, where applicable, does not mean that the US FDA has approved, certified or endorsed a dietary supplement or its manufacturer. Specific US legal requirements depend on the product and business activity.
What is the difference between GMP and ISO 9001:2015?
GMP addresses manufacturing practices and controls relevant to product quality, while ISO 9001:2015 sets requirements for a quality-management system. A particular certificate must be checked for its issuing body, scope and validity.
Can NutraMarck provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) or batch documents?
Product specifications, testing reports, CoAs and other batch-related documents should be discussed during the project review. Availability depends on the product, testing plan, manufacturing facility and agreed documentation scope; request confirmation before ordering.
Can I request compliance documents before private label or export production?
Yes, you can submit a supplier-qualification request identifying your product, destination country and required documents. NutraMarck can review the request and confirm which information is available and applicable to the proposed project.
Continue your supplier assessment.
